Voting Our Values

by: Gracepoint Church

I am not voting for a man. I am voting for the sanctity of life from conception to birth and through old age. I am voting for the freedom to worship. I am voting for the founding of our nation on Biblical principles. I am voting for a Constitutional government. I am voting for a strong, well-equipped military. I am voting to fully support our local police. I am voting for the right to keep and bear arms. I am voting for limited government and not an intrusive government t

Do You Have A Worship Hungry Heart?

People on a plane and people on a pew have a lot in common. All are on a journey. Most are well-behaved and presentable. Some doze, and others gaze out the window. Most, if not all, are satisfied with a predictable experience. For many, the mark of a good flight and the mark of a good worship service are the same. “Nice,” we like to say. “It was a nice flight/It was a nice worship service.” We exit the same way we enter, and we’re happy to return next time.

The story is tol

Puffed Up Believers?

by Pastor John Frederickson

During a Sunday morning service, we had a dear saint get up and do something that made us cringe. He was expressing thanks for the preciousness of rightly dividing the Word of God. Unfortunately, he was doing so by comparing ourselves to a denomination, saying how foolish and incorrect they were in interpreting God’s Word. We’ve seen wild Tom Turkeys all puffed up, spreading their feathers and strutting their stuff to impress

A Prayer We Never Pray

by: Gracepoint Church

Down through the centuries many sincere believers have uttered this prayer: “Come, Lord Jesus; come quickly,” but we have not joined them in this.

Lest we be misunderstood, we hasten to explain that we, personally, long to see and be with our blessed Lord, and did we think only of ourselves we would have Him come now, without further delay.

But this continued absence of our Lord in grace is the special subject of Paul’s epistles, as Peter states:

“AND ACCOUNT THAT THE LONGSUF

Turning It Around for Good

And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.

For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.

And he said unto me, “My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.”  Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the

It Is Well With My Soul

Many times in our life, when we find ourselves surrounded by the tragedies of life, God will remind us of a song that touches our heart and lifts us from despair.  Such is the song written by Horatio Spafford and composed by Philip Bliss.  Psa 34:19  Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

It Is Well with My Soul

This hymn was written after traumatic events in Spafford's life. The first two were the death of his four-year-old

Thoughts from Romans 8

by: Gracepoint Church

Paul, under inspiration of the Holy Spirit, makes an incredible statement in Romans 8:18: “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”

Now, if you know anything about the life of Paul, he suffered tremendously for the gospel of the grace of God. He was beaten, given stripes by the Jews five times, shipwrecked, in many perils, carried the burden of the ministry, abandoned by friend and

The Best Advice

When I was in sales, I was drawn to those who were successful. I wanted what they had, so I needed to do what they did in order to have the same kind of success. A previous Sales Manager once started a success story with the words "This one thing I did...” I remember being ready to hear the secret. I was ready to take notes because this advice was coming from someone I esteemed as worthy. Credibility is everything.

I can only imagine the church at Phil

Ten Great Truths About the Bible

If there is one area where the devil has consistently attacked the believer in the Lord Jesus Christ down through the ages, it has been the reliability, inspiration, inerrancy, and the sufficiency of the Word of God.

In our own nation, which was founded on Biblical principles, we have seen the Word of God systematically removed from the halls of government, the public school system, most American homes, and the Word is mocked in popular cult

HOW TO DECLUTTER AND ORGANIZE

We recently moved. In the process of getting paperwork signed and moving, there has been the opportunity for clutter. Moving boxes from one place to another, we tend to start filling a garage and saying “we will get that later”. Sometimes later comes and sometimes it may not.

I received a note from our mortgage lady the other day with the title listed above. As I read it I realized these same suggestions can apply to my daily walk with th

KEEP ME IN THE MOMENT

I have been going through a strange time. Because of Covid 19 and all of the changes, some days I have to ask myself - what day of the week is this again? Then other days (and years) are flying by. Beginning in March of each year through August we have 11 birthdays with kids, grandkids and my Dad. Every birthday I think they cannot be that old. Where did the time go? Do you ever feel that way?

I was driving the other day and I heard a song

Starting Over

Many of us, in our lives, would have liked to have a “do over” button. Sometimes it was a sin that was in your life, sometimes it was a project that you did that didn’t turn out the way you wanted it to or maybe it was a relationship gone bad that you would change things if you could. I would like to share with you today that God is a God of “Starting Over” and “Second Chances”. Why do you think that He made 24 hours in a day? Every day is a

“Great is Thy Faithfulness”

In Lamentations 3:22 – 24, the prophet Jeremiah writes under the influence of the Holy Spirit: “It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. (23) They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. (24) The LORD is my portion, saith my soul, therefore will I hope in him.”

When Jeremiah penned these words, he was heartbroken. The city of Jerusalem was in shambles. Nebuchadnezzar and his armi

Handwritten Letter-Donna Smith

One of my simple joys is receiving a handwritten letter or card in the mail. As I receive it, I purposely put my left thumb on the return address. The next few moments I search out the handwriting of the address on the front of the envelope in my hand, carefully looking at how the letters are formed. Are they tall, small, curly, or smooth - searching in my mind with the question who sent this to me. After being satisfied with who I think this piece of mail is from, the

FRESH COAT

As I was working at church (yes that happens) putting a fresh coat of red paint on the President’s Wall I couldn’t help but think how God will take us and put a fresh coat on his body believing saints.

The fact is that He does this on a very regular basis, in fact every day. Lamentations 3:22 & 23 It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
