Starting Over- Stan Glover

Starting Over

Many of us, in our lives, would have liked to have a “do over” button. Sometimes it was a sin that was in your life, sometimes it was a project that you did that didn’t turn out the way you wanted it to or maybe it was a relationship gone bad that you would change things if you could. I would like to share with you today that God is a God of “Starting Over” and “Second Chances”. Why do you think that He made 24 hours in a day? Every day is a new day, what you did… read more

“Great is Thy Faithfulness”

In Lamentations 3:22 – 24, the prophet Jeremiah writes under the influence of the Holy Spirit: “It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. (23) They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. (24) The LORD is my portion, saith my soul, therefore will I hope in him.”

When Jeremiah penned these words, he was heartbroken. The city of Jerusalem was in shambles. Nebuchadnezzar and his armies had destroyed the city, the temple, and the remnant had been carried away captive. Yet, in the midst of uncertainty and great… read more

Handwritten Letter-Donna Smith

by: Gracepoint Church

One of my simple joys is receiving a handwritten letter or card in the mail. As I receive it, I purposely put my left thumb on the return address. The next few moments I search out the handwriting of the address on the front of the envelope in my hand, carefully looking at how the letters are formed. Are they tall, small, curly, or smooth - searching in my mind with the question who sent this to me. After being satisfied with who I think this piece of mail is from, then I will open the letter or card and… read more

Fresh Coat-Steve Porter

by: Gracepoint Church

As I was working at church (yes that happens) putting a fresh coat of red paint on the President’s Wall I couldn’t help but think how God will take us and put a fresh coat on his body believing saints.

The fact is that He does this on a very regular basis, in fact every day. Lamentations 3:22 & 23 It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

When you stop and think about that, you can get just a glimpse of the grace… read more

FEAR Or A Song?

When I was around 2 1/2 years old, we were visiting my grandparents in Tennessee. My grandmother was doing laundry with an old wringer washer and a galvanized tub with a heater in it to heat the water. I fell backwards into the tub and was caught in the scalding water from under my arms to my knees and was in the water for a short time until my dad got me out. I was burned badly and was rushed to the hospital. I was in the hospital for about a month. I still have a few… read more

Right Side Up by Dow Boyer

The pressure to relent or just go with the culture had to be intense for Jason. We know very little about Jason in scripture. We know that he lived in Thessalonica based on Acts 17. We also know that he was moved to action by Paul's gospel of grace message. He was willing to house and protect Paul from the angry Jews.

In a world where there wasn't any social media, Paul's message traveled. Acts 17:6 says "And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have… read more
