FRESH COAT

As I was working at church (yes that happens) putting a fresh coat of red paint on the President’s Wall I couldn’t help but think how God will take us and put a fresh coat on his body believing saints.

The fact is that He does this on a very regular basis, in fact every day. Lamentations 3:22 & 23 It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

When you stop and think about that, you can get just a glimpse of the grace and love that He has for us, because it is for sure, if left to us, we could really make s mess of our walls.

When we moved in to our house we started to see proof that whoever did the painting really, really wanted to be a painter BUT, it was very evident that was where his ability stopped. We do the same thing in our lives we feel we know what we need or what we want or how to have a prayer answered. Paul thought the same way, he thought he knew what would work best for him, and he prayed 3 times and put his request for a fresh coat of paint on his life.

2nd Cor 12:6-8 For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me. 7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. 8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.

But then Paul is shown something, by the Lord, and he changes his request and tells the Lord “You take the brush and You will do it perfectly”

2 Cor 12:9-10 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Aren’t you glad that we have a Savior who can take the brush and totally repaint our life’s wall everyday! We just have allow Him the access to do it and to answer the prayer in His timing and in His plan.

The end result is so much better than anything we could ever do on our own and it becomes very obvious (just like at my house) that we don’t have a clue, BUT when we allow Christ to work just like the wall at church it really looks great.

I hope you are encouraged with this thought today and remember that God is in control and He is still on the throne. I can’t wait until we can meet together as a church family, but remember GracePoint is a building but we are the body of Christ.

Have a GREAT DAY

Steve, thank you for the encouraging words from God’s Word. He is the Potter and I am the clay. May He mold us to always be a people that will glorify Him. Love you and Jenni.

I Know You Are Here
I feel lost today yet I know You are here.
My heart is heavy and lonely,
so much around me is out of control.
I know Your plan is flowing as it should,
like the mountain water clear and strong.
I remember that your blood covers me,
and You are here for me.
Touch me - Hold me
I cannot be without You.
As You calm me and as I call Your name,
I know that my Jesus is here!

Great message. Right now the Lord is at work repainting our country. Many are suffering, We are learning new lessons through all this change. It's a time when prayers warriors should be at their strongest.
