Ten Great Truths About the Bible

If there is one area where the devil has consistently attacked the believer in the Lord Jesus Christ down through the ages, it has been the reliability, inspiration, inerrancy, and the sufficiency of the Word of God.

In our own nation, which was founded on Biblical principles, we have seen the Word of God systematically removed from the halls of government, the public school system, most American homes, and the Word is mocked in popular culture.

In Christendom, we have seen the tried and true King James Bible replaced and removed in most of our churches and Bible/Christian colleges replaced with all the watered down modern versions (things that are different are not the same).

The result: A nation adrift in ungodliness and without a rudder in uncertain times and a church crippled by false doctrine, mysticism, and following every worldly fad and philosophy.

Yet, for the King James Bible believer, we have a sure Word that we can rest in knowing that “the word of God is not bound” no matter which way the world or Christendom may go.

While there endless truths contained in God’s Word, here are ten truths about our King James Bible that are so important in a world of shifting sand that I hope will be an encouragement to you:

1. Every word of the Bible is pure and without error:

Proverbs 30:5 “Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.”

2. The Bible is preserved and will last forever:

Psalm 12:6 – 7 “The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth purified seven times. (7) Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation forever.”

3. The Bible is settled forever:

Psalm 119:89 “Forever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.”

4. The Bible’s words are true:

John 17:17 “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”

5. The Bible is God’s word not mans:

II Peter 1:20 – 21 “Knowing this first, that no prophesy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. (21) For the prophesy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”

6. The whole Bible (every word) is inspired by God and is profitable:

II Timothy 3:16 – 17 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (17) that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”

7. The Bible is a living book:

Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

8. The Bible is to be read and studied dispensation ally:

II Timothy 2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

9. The Bible is sufficient and is the final authority in all things:

II Peter 1:3 “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.”

10. The Lord has magnified his Word above His name:

Psalm 138:2 “I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.”
